Porsche is probably one of the first brands that comes to mind when you hear the word "luxury," and the Cayenne lives up to the hype. It has a luxurious interior with soft leather surfaces and other opulent touches, and it is stylish and handsome.

Porsche essentially provides a blank canvas for customers to customise as they see fit inside the Cayenne. Everything from the interior trim to the seatbelt colours and surface materials can be customised. The driver is confronted with a stylish gauge cluster that includes an analogue tachometer flanked by two 7.0-inch screens that display selectable information. The Cayenne offers desirable upgrades such as more supportive seats, massaging front seats, four-zone climate control, and more, in addition to traditional options such as heated and ventilated front and rear seats. The Porsche has only two rows, compared to the rival Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90, which both have three. Nonetheless, the back seat is adjustable and has plenty of room for stretching out.

The Cayenne entices Porsche fans with its ample passenger capacity and cargo volume, both of which are obviously far greater than any 911's. It's Porsche's largest SUV, with 27 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and up to 60 cubes with the seats folded flat. Most small items are relegated to the door pockets or the shallow center-console bin, as interior cubby storage is unremarkable. Every Cayenne comes standard with a power-operated liftgate; the optional passive-entry system (called Comfort Access) lets you open or close it with a foot gesture.

Most competitors in this class produce better cargo haulers than this Porsche. The base Cayenne has 27.2 cubic feet of space behind the back seats and 60.3 cubic feet with the back seats folded down. Coupe models, which have four doors and a higher roofline, have 22 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up and 54.3 cubic feet with them down. The Turbo GT has the smallest capacities in the lineup, measuring 19.4 and 51.7 cubes.

How Many People Does the Cayenne Seat?

The Cayenne can seat five people in the standard body style and four people in coupe models. The seats in the standard Cayenne are wide and comfortable. There's plenty of head- and legroom no matter where you sit, and the seats are well-bolstered to keep you in place around turns. The Cayenne Coupe has a tighter back seat due to its sloping roofline. Adults can still fit back there, but the seats do not slide, making it more difficult to enter and exit the vehicle.
