 Ford has announced that the Mach 1 will be resurrected in 2021. The 480-hp version of Ford's 5.0-liter V-8 engine is paired with a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission in the limited-edition model. The heritage-inspired design of the new Mach 1 includes a distinct front end and black stripes on the hood and bodysides. Aerodynamic elements, cooling upgrades, and other performance hardware are also carried over from the Shelby GT350 and GT500. Those looking for wider 19-inch wheels with an exclusive design and aerodynamic pieces that increase downforce can opt for the Mach 1's Handling package, which is only available with the manual transmission.

The engine lineup for the 2021 Mustang is intriguing, with options for most budgets and performance appetites. The standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine is the class's most powerful base engine. It gets you moving quickly and provides strong power throughout the majority of the rev range. Only when the tach nears the limiter does the car appear to run out of gas. The somewhat subdued exhaust note, on the other hand, may seem a little tame for a muscle car.

An optional performance package for this engine increases horsepower by 20 and includes an active exhaust system, as well as other handling enhancements.
