2020 Land Rover Defender Engine

Home

The 2020 Defender is an excellent used luxury SUV. With standard four-wheel drive and a wading depth of 35.4 inches, it's a capable off-roader. At the same time, this vehicle is composed and comfortable on the road. It has simple infotainment controls and a standard two-row seating configuration that provides plenty of space. However, there are a few flaws, such as poor gas mileage, a cramped optional third row, and a cabin that is less upscale than that of other luxury vehicles.

The 2020 Defender is powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard. Of course, all models have all-wheel drive and locking differentials to help them navigate treacherous terrain. The Defender will also be available with the new 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine from Jaguar Land Rover. In addition to turbocharging, the engine has an electric supercharger and a 48-volt hybrid system. The next-generation Defender, unlike its predecessor, will be built on a unibody rather than a body-on-frame platform, and it will replace the old solid axles with a fully independent suspension.

The latter is equipped with coil springs as standard, but can be upgraded with an air suspension that allows for adjustable ride height. The Defender also has 11.5 inches of ground clearance and can ford 35.4 inches of water, outperforming both the Jeep Wrangler's maximum clearance and wading ability.

With 11.5 inches of ground clearance and a wading depth of 35.4 inches, this vehicle is a capable off-roader. It includes an adaptive suspension, a terrain response system, a two-speed transfer case, an off-road front-view camera, and hill descent control as standard equipment. There are options for all-terrain cruise control, a front skid plate, off-road tyres, an electronic locking differential, off-road tyres, and a raised air intake snorkel.
