The upcoming 2023 Land Rover Defender SUV is set to go on sale later this year. This SUV is available in two trim levels: 80 and 90. The Defender 80 appears to be more compact and smaller than the larger Defender 90.

The Land Rover Defender 80 will, in essence, be built on a completely different platform than the standard Defender. The new SUV would be based on the Harrier, a compact SUV marketed by Tata, Jaguar's parent company, according to the most recent report. We expect the starting price to be around $30,000, which is comparable to the current Jeep Wrangler and the new Ford Bronco.

Land Rover's new Pivi Pro infotainment system, which debuted on the regular Defender, should be standard on the smaller Defender 80 as well. This system, which is displayed on a 10.0-inch touchscreen, is the most recent technology from Jaguar-Land Rover and can handle over-the-air software updates. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are built into the software, and in-dash navigation and an on-board Wi-Fi hotspot should be available as options.
