2021 Cadillac XT6 Infotainment

Choosing a Cadillac SUV used to be a fairly simple process. You had the Cadillac Escalade, the even larger Escalade ESV, and that was the end of it. Cadillac, on the other hand, has recently expanded its lineup with new models. One of them is the XT6, which was introduced last year.

The 2021 XT6 is a three-row crossover SUV designed to compete with luxury SUVs like the Acura MDX, Audi Q7, and Lincoln Aviator. Unlike the Escalade, which is still a truck-based SUV powered by a thirsty V8, the XT6 is smaller and lighter, with either a four-cylinder or a V6 engine under the hood. The four-cylinder engine is new for 2021 and is only available on the base Luxury trim level, which is also new for 2021.

Touchscreen infotainment, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, onboard Wi-Fi, and wireless smartphone charging are standard on all XT6 models. Cadillac's latest CUE (Cadillac User Experience) software displays crisply on an 8.0-inch screen and responds quickly to commands. Optional features include navigation and a rear-seat entertainment system with a DVD player.

The touch screen on the CUE infotainment system has crisp graphics and quick responses, and there are plenty of physical controls. However, figuring out how the system works can take some time, and the touch-sensitive climate controls are a little finicky.

Standard infotainment features: an 8-inch touch screen, six USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, an eight-speaker Bose stereo, satellite radio, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

Available infotainment features: an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless device charging, navigation, a 14-speaker Bose stereo, and a rear-seat entertainment system with dual displays

Additional standard features: tri-zone automatic climate control, remote start, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, and a sunroof
