 The 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is the hottest version of the brand's smallest sedan, with a beefed-up engine and track-ready hardware. The Blackwing, which is based on the regular Cadillac CT4, comes standard with a manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, which serve as two appetisers for driving enthusiasts. The main course is its fiery 472-hp twin-turbo V-6 engine and one-of-a-kind chassis tuning, which includes upgraded suspension components and specially developed tyres.

The Caddy comes standard with a stick-shift transmission and track-ready hardware, which we like. The CT4-V Blackwing also has sportier front seats as well as some luxury amenities that sound appealing but add to the price. The CT4-V Blackwing is powered by a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 engine that generates 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. This power is routed to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission or a ten-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is not an option. The Blackwing sounds better than its ATS-V predecessor, has a lot of steering feedback, and has one of the best ride-handling balances in its class, according to our first impressions. Cadillac has, thankfully, moved on from its old CUE interface, which relied almost entirely on unintuitive touch-sensitive controls, and introduced a useful rotary knob and physical buttons to help operate its infotainment system. The Blackwing also includes a 14-speaker AKG stereo with brushed aluminium grilles and lightweight components as standard.

Cadillac's compact high-performance sedan comes standard with a slew of driver-assistance features. The optional Driver Assist package includes features such as adaptive cruise control and rear automated emergency braking. While Cadillac's limited warranty is comparable to that of most luxury competitors, its powertrain coverage is longer than that of Audi or BMW. However, the German alternatives provide better complimentary maintenance, particularly with BMW's three-year or 36,000-mile warranty.

The limited warranty period is four years or 50,000 miles.

The powertrain warranty is valid for six years or 70,000 miles.
