2022 Kia Niro EX

Home
The 2022 Niro, Kia's smallest SUV, offers practicality and value in a small package. However, the Niro is unique in its segment due to its hybrid powertrains, which rivals such as the Mazda CX-30 and the Hyundai Kona do not offer. The base engine is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor that produces 139 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid version is also available, with the ability to travel up to 26 miles on electric power before engaging the gasoline engine.

The Niro isn't as exciting to drive as some of its rivals, but for buyers looking for an SUV with impressive fuel efficiency, there are few better options than a Niro hybrid. If you want to go all-electric, Kia also has the Niro EV, which we reviewed separately.
