Rangers are available in either extended cab (SuperCab) or crew cab (SuperCrew) configurations. The SuperCrew seats up to five people and has four full-size doors, whereas the SuperCab seats four people and has two smaller half-doors. The Ranger cabin's design and materials are inconsistent, as they are in some other Ford products—mostly dull and littered with cheap plastics, but also fitted with small bits of trim that look and feel surprisingly upscale. However, both the SuperCab and SuperCrew cabins are comfortable, and the controls are simple to use.

Ford Ranger Interior Quality

Despite its debut in the United States in 2019, the current Ford Ranger has been sold in Europe since 2011, and its advanced age is evident when looking at the interior. The styling is dated and uninteresting, and the interior is dominated by hard and cheap-looking plastics. The majority of the panels feel sturdy and should withstand use and abuse, but they don't lend the Ranger any style points, especially when compared to newcomers like the upscale Hyundai Santa Cruz.

Ford Ranger Cargo Space

The Ford Ranger comes with a 5-foot or 6-foot bed. Both are wide enough to accommodate 4 x 8 sheets of plywood above the wheel arches, but other than the standard tie-down cleats, there aren't many cargo-related extras. Depending on configuration, the Ranger's maximum payload ranges from 1,430 to 1,860 pounds. This is one of the highest ratings in the compact pickup truck class.

How Many People Does the Ranger Seat?

The Ford Ranger comes in two body styles. The Ranger SuperCab has four seats and the Ranger SuperCrew has five. Both models' front seats are comfortable and well-contoured, with plenty of headroom and legroom for taller drivers and passengers. The cabin filters out most road and wind noise, and outward visibility is good to the front and sides of the truck, but only decent to the back.

The SuperCrew's rear bench seat is well-padded and spacious enough for three children or two adults to sit comfortably on short trips. The full-size rear doors make getting in and out a breeze as well. The SuperCab's rear seats, on the other hand, are best reserved for occasional use. These seats are firm, cramped, and difficult to get into. The bolt-upright seating position is also extremely uncomfortable.

Front seats are manually adjustable and have cloth upholstery as standard. Leather upholstery and heated front seats with power adjustments are available as options.
