2023 Ford Bronco Raptor Engine

The Ford Bronco is already available in six trim levels, some of which are off-road-focused, such as the Badlands and Wildtrak, but the lineup will expand further in 2022 with the introduction of a top-of-the-line Raptor. Meanwhile, The Bronco Nation has proven to be a valuable source of information for the most capable version of the high-riding SUV.

2023 Ford Bronco Raptor Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Because we've been told that Ford won't put a V-8 in the Bronco, we're expecting the highest-performance model to come with an extra-powerful EcoBoost V-6. We believe the Bronco Raptor will use the 450-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 found in the current F-150 Raptor. Coincidentally, the latter is comparable to the 470 horses produced by the Hemi V-8 found in Jeep's wild Wrangler Rubicon 392. The engine in the Ford will most likely be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and an advanced four-wheel-drive system that will work in tandem with selectable drive modes.

As seen with this camouflaged prototype version, the Bronco Raptor should have an even beefier suspension setup to handle powering over sand dunes or being jumped through the air. Ford has also confirmed that the Raptorized Bronco will come with Fox adaptive dampers from the F-150 Raptor, as well as 35- or 37-inch BFGoodrich K02 all-terrain tyres.
