2023 Cadillac Escalade Engine

The Cadillac Escalade 2023 is a large 3-row luxury SUV with a huge cabin that could double as a Manhattan studio apartment, as well as seamless power from its standard V8 engine.

2023 Cadillac Escalade

For SUV buyers who can afford it, this posh Cadillac SUV ranks among the best, alongside strong competitors such as the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, BMW X7, and Lincoln Navigator. To stand out in this company, you must be exceptional.

2023 Cadillac Escalade Engine

Cadillac's largest SUV is powered by a standard 6.2-liter V-8 engine with 420 horsepower and the ability to deactivate half of its cylinders while cruising to save fuel; a turbo-diesel 3.0-liter inline-six engine is also available. Both engines come standard with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and buyers can opt for rear- or all-wheel drive. The Escalade, like its siblings, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, and the GMC Yukon, has an independent rear suspension that contributes to a smooth ride.

Air suspension with adaptive dampers that use computer-controlled shock absorbers is also available on higher-end models. The long-wheelbase Cadillac Escalade ESV with the V-8 engine reached 60 mph in 5.9 seconds on our test track. The diesel engine doesn't have the straight-line performance of the standard V-8, but for some buyers, the improved fuel economy and punchy low-end torque are worth the trade-off. Only the V will do for Escalade fans who crave speed. We don't have all of the details on this model yet, but we're expecting it to be powered by a monstrous supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 producing over 600 horsepower.
