2022 Range Rover Sport Engine

The Range Rover Sport is available with four engines: two turbocharged inline six-cylinder engines producing 355 and 395 horsepower, and two supercharged V8 engines producing 518 and 575 horsepower. The engines are all mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

2022 Range Rover Sport Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Every 2022 Range Rover Sport is equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine, Land Rover's excellent all-wheel-drive system, and an outstanding eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces 355 horsepower with the help of a 48-volt hybrid system. However, we prefer the more powerful 395-hp version, which is only available on the HST model. It's extremely smooth and has a lot of muscle. The HST reached 60 mph in 6.0 seconds in our testing. Land Rover claims a top speed of 140 miles per hour. Those looking for more power should look into the 518-hp Range Rover Sport Supercharged, which we have a separate review for.

The 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is more entertaining to drive than the majority of luxury midsize SUVs. It's powerful and agile, and it's more than capable when the pavement runs out. The interior is stunning, with plush seats and plenty of technology. This is one of the most expensive vehicles in the class, but there's plenty of evidence that it's well worth the money.
