2022 Ford Bronco Sport Outer Banks

The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport is among the better compact crossovers for combining city living with outdoor weekend adventures. The smaller Sport draws attention because it is styled like a baby version of the full-size Ford Bronco, which itself is a retro rendition of classic Broncos. Its truck-like shape pays dividends on the inside, where headroom and cargo space are plentiful.

While the cabin is marred by some unappealing materials and the back seat isn't particularly spacious, the incorporation of useful features such as hidden storage compartments and a slide-out workbench are noteworthy. All-wheel drive is standard, but the potent turbo-four engine is reserved for the top-of-the-line Badlands trim—a legitimate off-road rival to the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. The standard three-cylinder engine is more powerful, but it's also far more fuel-efficient. The bigger Bronco has more power, but the 2022 Bronco Sport is more than just a gimmick.

The Bronco Sport Outer Banks costs $33,075. Leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, remote start, and rear parking sensors are all standard features on the Outer Banks.

The Tech package ($1,035) includes a Bang & Olufsen 10-speaker stereo, HD Radio, and wireless device charging. A moonroof ($770, but requires the Tech package) and the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ package ($895) are also available.
