2021 Cadillac CT4 Engine

The 2021 Cadillac CT4 is more enjoyable to drive than some of its competitors, but it lacks the interior quality to be a true contender in our luxury small car rankings.

2021 Cadillac CT4

2021 Cadillac CT4 Engine

The Cadillac CT4 is equipped with a 237-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard. A larger turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 310 horsepower in CT4 Premium Luxury models and 325 horsepower in CT4-V models is available. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The base engine is adequate, but the larger engine is more powerful. It's smooth and powerful, with quick acceleration from a stop or while merging and passing on the highway. The larger engine's 10-speed automatic transmission works well in general, but the shifts could be better timed at times.

2021 Cadillac CT4 Gas Mileage

The Cadillac  CT4 uses less fuel than some of its competitors. With its base engine and rear-wheel drive, it achieves 23 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The CT4 gets 20/30 mpg city/highway with the more powerful engine. CT4-V models get 20/29 mpg in the city and on the highway. If you choose all-wheel drive, your fuel economy rating will drop by about 1 mpg.

2021 Cadillac CT4 Ride and Handling

The Cadillac CT4 rides smoothly on most road surfaces, but that isn't its only strength. This small sedan is more fun to drive than some of its classmates because of its agility, sharp steering, and strong brakes. The handling of the performance-oriented CT4-V model is even better.
